Minyan
Dear Friends,
This Sunday, November 22, I am excited to have the first of what I hope will be an ongoing morning minyan, with a light breakfast afterwards.
We will begin promptly at 9:00 in the sanctuary, so our davening should be finished by 9:30 am.
There are many reasons to make ourselves part of a morning minyan – to participate in the spiritual practice of daily prayer, to connect to community, to learn and grow as a Jewish seeker, to support mourners saying Kaddish, to say Kaddish ourselves, to help create vibrant, collective and spiritual experience.
This first minyan happens to take place on my birthday, so it will be especially celebratory for me. The service will be a basically traditional service, albeit with my own personal touches of niggun, kavanot, etc. But my goal is to make it accessible to anyone who wishes to explore and learn more.
For the future, we will meet anytime religious school is in session. Next month, we are planning on meeting on December 5, 12 and 19. Once we gain some momentum and critical mass, my hope is that the minyan can meet every week.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday – tallis and extra tefillin will be available!!
B’shalom,
Rabbi Justin David
