About the Event

Revelation Within: Exploring Emotions Through a Jewish Lens

For something so central to being human, emotions are not always foregrounded in classical Jewish texts or in contemporary Jewish life. On this night, we’ll take the subject of emotion as our starting point—learning together through text, song, and embodied practice, and exploring what it might mean to encounter Torah and revelation through this lens.

Anger in Classical Jewish Sources with Rabbi Ben Barer and Professor Deborah Barer

From G-d's wrath in the Torah to the Talmud's warnings against losing one's temper, Jewish tradition has been wrestling with anger for millennia—and the questions feel more urgent than ever. Explore various angles on expressing and mastering one’s anger in this text-based session.


Singing at Sinai with Ilana Lerman and Friends

Join us as we journey through some of the many human emotions with Jewish song as our medium to feel. We will engage with our anxiety, grief, relief, joy, love, and gratitude to move us towards revelation.

The Torah of Dogs: The Good Dogs of Egypt, in Loving Memory of Beloved Kayla z"l with Rabbah Riqi Kosovske

Our dogs and pets are our comfort source, our beloved family. They embody home, hearth, heart, and unconditional love. How do we understand their unique consciousness and our soul connection, cope and mourn their loss, and celebrate their role in the more-than-human world? An uplifting text study that explores the astounding things our tradition has to say in praise of dogs and the place they hold. For all animal-lovers alike!
