Shavuot Shabloom

Join us in celebrating new life in our community with our annual Shavuot Shabloom baby welcoming ceremony! We will gather on Abundance Farm for song and blessings. Please come ready to share your child's name (and Hebrew name, if they have one), and one thing that is special to you about them or their name. This program is open to the public and you do not need to be a member of CBI to attend. Interfaith and blended families are very welcome to participate.

Erev Shavuot Teen Hike

Sunday, May 16 at 2:00-4:00 pm

Calling Solelim (6-8th grade) and Kirvah (9-12th grade) teens to join us for this hike at Bare Mountain in Amherst!  Shavuot commemorates the revelation on Mt. Sinai when Moses received the Torah. In preparation for the holiday, we will climb a different mountain and contemplate what Torah we can find up there. 

This is 1.1 mile well traffic route there and back; Learn more about the route here. Due to COVID restrictions, we ask caregivers to coordinate pick up and drop off for teens.  Masks and social distancing required.

Erev Shavuot Community Hike

Sunday, May 16 at 1:00 pm

All are welcome to join us for a hike of Mt. Holyoke at Skinner State Park in Hadley. The hike is 2.2 miles in and out, has a 718' elevation gain and is described as “moderate.”  (Folks are also welcome to drive up the paved road to the Summit House and meet the hikers at the top).We will meet in the Skinner State Park parking lot at 12:45 and walk to the trailhead together.
