Young Families: Reflective Nature Walk

Sunday, September 12
10:30 am

Join Gan Keshet Director, Kate Holdsworth, for a short walk around the outdoor classroom, farm, and a hidden spot just off the Northampton bike path. The walk will be about 30 minutes from start to finish, with stops along the way. We will use our senses to notice the natural world around us. We will think about how we are feeling and create small transient rock sculptures/collections to leave behind on the path. All ages welcome; geared towards children 3-8.
Pre-registration required. We’ll meet on the blacktop just inside the gate of the outdoor classroom.

Young Family Abstract Collage and Story Time
Sunday, September 19
10:30 am

Tashlich is about 'casting off' the actions or happenings that we wish we could do over and try again. For young children, this is a very big and abstract concept. So, we're going to create some abstract art to help us begin to develop an understanding of this High Holiday tradition. We will read a story and talk about our cycle of feelings and liken it to a year's cycle. We will also share about our hopes and dreams for the year ahead. All ages welcome; geared towards ages 2-8.

Teen Programs

Apologies, Fresh Starts and New Connections

Thursday, September 16

10:30 AM-11:30 AM (6th-8th)

11:45 AM-12:45 PM (9th-12th)

Teens, join us for an informal conversation about why we celebrate Yom Kippur each year. Join in as we discuss: What is the purpose of atonement? How is apologizing helpful? What would the world look like if we took the lessons from Yom Kippur and applied them to other parts of society like our criminal justice system?
