Rosh Hashanah II Meditation

Second Day Rosh HaShanah, Tuesday September 27, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the LGA multi-purpose room. Chairs will be available for all; feel free to bring a cushion if you prefer. Please arrive on time!
Facilitated by Rabbi Nancy Flam and Rabbi Jacob Fine

Rosh HaShanah marks the day on which tradition teaches that the world was conceived. It is a day that holds the promise of profound spiritual renewal and possibility. When we slow down and look closely, it is possible to see that renewal is actually occurring in every moment. During this morning of Rosh HaShanah meditation, we will alternate periods of sitting and walking meditation, framed by brief teachings and contemplative niggunim. Our hope is to provide a structure in which we might feel supported to open and deepen into the flow of this sacred time, and where we each might receive the particular insight and illumination that is ours to receive. There will be two, half-hour sitting meditation periods, and one twenty-minute walking meditation period. Simple instruction will be provided, and brief reminders spoken from time to time during the sitting periods. Beginning and experienced meditators are all welcome.
