You strengthen our Jewish community!
Congregation B'nai Israel is sustained by each of our community members who invest their love, talents, time, and resources in building our campus community together. Membership is an expression of individual commitments and communal responsibility. Together, we co-create our progressive inter-generational Jewish community.

Why Should I Become A Member?
First, you financially support the spiritual leaders, musicians, building, and programming that you love. Second, you support CBI’s capacity to provide programming, like Shiru Shabbat, Kiddush, Adult Education, and Shabbat Shabloom. Third, you support a 120 year-old Jewish Community and get to participate in a pivotal moment in CBI that will shape not just the next few years, but the community for the long-term, including a rabbinic search and a capital campaign. Fourth, you are supported by, and shape our vibrant community, including, Chesed, Tikkun Olum, Abundance Farm, Gan Keshet, ALMA, and so much more.
What If I Rarely Interact With CBI?
How much do you value the programs, services, and connections this community provides? Think about the role it plays in your life and what it means to you and your family. Even if you rarely attend- how important is it to you to have a pastoral team to call on? A Jewish presence in your community? A facility to return to and celebrate in?
What About CBI and Politics
The CBI community has been around for 120 years and has members whose views are as diverse as the community we serve. We are all united in one belief - we support Jewish community now, so there will be Jewish community in the future. Our members shape the tone, direction, and beliefs of our congregation as well. By joining, you add your voice and build the community you want to see. You can read more about specific stances from our leadership on our blog.
I don't identify as a Conservative Jew, why should I join a Conservative Synagogue?
CBI offers many ways to worship and engage in Jewish Community! We have members of the congregation who feel affiliated with other movements and some who don’t identify with any movement.
What if Membership Isn't For Me?
CBI can only be accessible to everyone if everyone contributes to making it accessible! You can still support your favorite programs by making a donation to the annual fund. By investing in CBI, you keep your money local and invest directly in your own community. Regular volunteering is also a great way to take part in the collective.
