Two session community building program for people 65 years and older
We all need kind, warm, uplifting human connection to thrive in our lives, at every age. Join us in person at CBI for connection and community, and to help rebuild communal life after the acute disruption of the pandemic. This program is offered in two parts: the first to schmooze, learn and share; and the second to create ongoing ways for regular connection based on shared interests. Feel free to come to one or both!
Sunday, March 19, 11:30 am-1:30 pm presentation and group facilitation with Rabbi Nancy Flam. We will start with freshly baked, wood-fired bagels from the farm (hopefully outside), then move inside for the program.
Sunday, March 26 2:00-4:00 pm Gathering and brainstorming session for ongoing monthly small group gatherings. The goal of this session will be to identify shared interests in order to form micro-communities around themes or activities.
If you have questions, please call Naomi in the CBI office: (413) 584-3593.
We are not offering a Zoom option since it is very difficult for a presenter to manage a live audience and a Zoom audience at the same time, especially with a focus on group discussion. CBI is currently exploring new technologies that are designed for hybrid programming, but we are in the beginning stages of this search. We have chosen not to offer a livestream option for this program because people will be sharing personal experiences, and livestream is open to the public.
The second session of this program will be focused on creating small groups that will meet monthly to sustain connection. These could include support groups, book clubs, walking groups, etc. I am sure that people will want some of these groups to be on Zoom which will be a terrific option for those interested in virtual gatherings. Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in a monthly group on Zoom, and send your ideas to Amy Stein amy@cbinorthampton.org
