You are invited to an open workshop of the Genealogy Havurah on creating the Family Tree, the foundation of all genealogical research. You will need to register in advance. This workshop will be helpful to people who haven't begun creating a family tree yet, and to those who want to build on what they already have. The workshop will be led by Nina Sitron, President of the Western Massachusetts Jewish Genealogical Society, our community's genealogy maven. It will be held in the CBI Library from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11. The meeting is being hosted by Paula Ressler and Nina Sitron, facilitators of the CBI Genealogy Havurah. -

Friday, May 16th 6:00p to 7:00p
Shiru Shabbat is a joyous, musical Kabbalat Shabbat service held at CBI and led by Molly Bajgot with Aram Rubenstein Gillis, Matt Goldfield, and other guests. Feel free to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy after services! Shiru Shabbat is inspired by the circular davvening (prayer) style of Nava Tehila, a renewal style prayer service in Jerusalem, and by Rabbi Micah Shapiro's Shabbat Nariya services in Boston, Massachusetts. The service includes contemporary melodies and the use of instruments to create a song-full, heart expanding Shabbat experience. Come to sing out, be washed in sound, and to connect with community at the end of the week. Shiru Shabbat invites you to join our new Ruach* Circle, a circle of community musicians and vocalists to elevate our song at Shiru Shabbat (*ruach means spirit).
