4:00 PM - 4:30 PM

2:00–2:45 pm What Happens When the Gates Close?

We'll explore a few texts about the “gates” we speak about on Yom Kippur — when they are opened, when they are closed, and how we can best prepare ourselves to reenter the world at the conclusion of the day. Led by Rabbi Ariella Rosen.

3:00–3:45 pm Singing and Chanting

Take this opportunity to recenter before the rest of Yom Kippur. We'll sing some simple chants and sit together in meditation / quiet reflection. A chance to drop in, exhale, and ground before the gates close. With Avi Abraham, Abundance Farm Educator.

4:00–4:30 pm The Book of Jonah: A Crankie Performance

Eva Gerstle and Bella Levavi will perform the story of Jonah through the crankie* that many of us helped to create. Gain new insight into the story through this fun and creative medium before hearing it beautifully chanted at the Mincha service.

*A crankie is a storytelling device that consists of a scroll inside a box, where a puppeteer “cranks” the scroll as a performance unfolds, revealing a visual representation of the story. The CBI community helped create the story panels over the past several months.
