ALMA Chuggim Selection Form 5781

ALMA Spring Chuggim Selection Form

ALMA Spring Chuggim Descriptions:

Farm Detectives with Farmer Rose on Abundance Farm

Mondays 4:00-5:00PM

Grades 2-8th (group size: 8 students max)

Get out your magnifying glasses and your shovels! Each week, we will solve a different mystery about Abundance Farm. What plants and animals live on the Farm that we never see? What is going on below the soil? Who took care of this land before us? How do we learn to pay close attention to the clues on the Farm to answer all our big questions about the land?

We will do Farm work, explore the new Water Department land, and create a play about what we discover!

Farm Art (FArt!) with Farmer Rebecca on Abundance Farm

Wednesdays 4:00-5:00PM

Grades 2-8th (group size: 8 students max)

Come join Farmer Rebecca for art on Abundance Farm, or FArt! We'll use things we can find in nature and on the farm to make your ultimate masterpiece! Maybe your medium is snow sculpture, or wreath making, or just making a huge mess-- come find out this Spring!

Zeydi’s Kitchen: Baking + with Zeydi on Zoom (supplies provided)

Wednesdays 5:00-6:00PM

Grades 3-8th

Food is an amazing way to learn about and connect to our Jewish past! Through delicious creations, we will examine the history of Jewish diasporas, looking at how certain ingredients got to our tables, why we eat what we eat, and what has changed over the centuries.

Sign up if you want to chop, cook, bake, and taste your way through Jewish histories, hear salty tales, and spice up your understanding of the past. Some prior experience in the kitchen is helpful, but not required.

COVID Waiver & Protocol:

For outdoor offerings at CBI, we of course need to continue to take the highest precautions around COVID-19 exposure. More information about this is shared below. Our farm staff has been learning and practicing these practices this summer and we have a learned a lot from their experience. Our farm is set up with socially-distant in person classrooms with spaces 6ft apart.

In order to ensure that we are as safe as we can be for these outdoor programs, please read and and indicate that you understand and agree to it by writing your name below:

While participating in events held or sponsored by ALMA/CBI, “social distancing” of 6ft or more must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19.  Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, CBI has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  However, CBI cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories below should not engage in CBI events and/or other face to face fundraising activities. By attending a CBI event, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;

2. Individuals who have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or

3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.
