Young Family Tu B'shvat Tree Walks

On Wednesday, January 27th and Thursday, January 28th, join Kate for a short nature walk to celebrate and explore our friends, the trees!

We will do some bark rubbings, make some twig/stick sculptures, and talk about the many ways that trees help the Earth and its inhabitants.

Please fill out the form below to register for the program.  Please be sure to include the total number of people who will be attending--this includes children and adults. Example: William, age 4, and Kate, parent. Number of people attending: 2.

We must strictly adhere to our protocols which include limiting group size for now. We thank you for your cooperation and support and kindly ask that you refrain from signing up multiple family members if just one registration spot remains. To help support having as many families join us as safely possible, we also ask that you and your family members/pod connect first to discuss which time slot will work the best before completing the registration form. This helps to cut down on cancellations/time slot registration changes, confusion, and the need for a wait list. Again, thank you so much for your understanding, support, and care.

When finished, please scroll to the very bottom and click on the Submit button to complete your registration. Thank you!

Young Family Tu B'shvat Tree Walks
This program will take place throughout the day on Wednesday, January 27th and Thursday, January 28th in 45 minute time slots. Please indicate what time slot you and your child(ren) are interested in attending and be sure to include the number of people (adults and children total) who will be coming.  Space for this activity is limited to ensure that all COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed during each session*.

Please note: This program is designed for young children and their parents or adult caregivers to share in the experience together.  Childcare will not be provided.  Please be sure that an adult is present to supervise your child (ren) at all times. Thank you.

COVID-19 precautions will be required including wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing between family units. Participants must also complete the online COVID questionnaire before arriving to campus on activity day.

* Since spaces for this program is limited, please be in touch if you find that you and your family are unable to attend after registering. This way, we can offer the spaces to other families who are interested. If circumstances change and you are unable to attend after registering or you have questions, please contact Kate ASAP at gan.keshet@cbinorthampton.org

Join Kate for a story circle about the holiday of Tu B'shvat followed by a short nature walk to visit with some of our beloved trees. We will talk about how trees grow, how to recognize different tree species, and celebrate the many gifts they share with us.

For this activity, we will walk around the outdoor classroom as well as a section of the Northampton Bike Path (accessed through the Abundance Farm gate). You are welcome to join us for as much or as little of the walk as you/your child would like. Comfortable footwear is recommended and rugged strollers/baby wearing gear is also most welcome! We will do some tree yoga, experiment with tree bark rubbing, stick/twig sculptures, and write a collective tree poem as we go along our walk.

Led by Kate Holdsworth-Clarke.
All ages welcome. Geared towards ages 2-8.
Group size--10 people total.
Meeting spot: Gan Keshet playground
