For 40 years, Lerner and Moguilevsky have been making unexpected connections between jazz, tango, and folk music with the klezmer music they learned from their grandparents who immigrated to Argentina. We’ll explore how to find inspiration in different cultural approaches to melody, harmony, rhythm and form and how better listening can lead to stronger musical connections. After the class, connect with Cesar and Marcello in an open jam session. This program is part of the Libertad Artist in Residency made possible with support from theMassachusetts Cultural Council, Northampton Arts Council, Harold Grinspoon Foundation, and the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts and produced by Dream Up Events.
