Nothing brings us together in community like the tug to say Mourner's Kaddish. We scramble to get a minyan for those who need to say it; never are we so reverent. Yet, how well do we understand not just the meaning of the words of kaddish but also what it is meant to be doing, what is its action? In this mini-course, we will explore the text of kaddish, its historical development, and what it means to the heart. Expect surprises!
Rabbi Andrew Hahn, Ph.D. holds a Ph.D. in Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary and ordination from the HUC-JIR. He has taught widely in the adult Jewish learning setting, at rabbinical schools and in the academic world. He was resident faculty at Clal: The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership in New York.

Shiru Shabbat is a joyous, musical Kabbalat Shabbat service held at CBI and led by Molly Bajgot with Aram Rubenstein Gillis, Matt Goldfield, and other guests. Feel free to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy after services! Shiru Shabbat is inspired by the circular davvening (prayer) style of Nava Tehila, a renewal style prayer service in Jerusalem, and by Rabbi Micah Shapiro's Shabbat Nariya services in Boston, Massachusetts. The service includes contemporary melodies and the use of instruments to create a song-full, heart expanding Shabbat experience. Come to sing out, be washed in sound, and to connect with community at the end of the week. Shiru Shabbat invites you to join our new Ruach* Circle, a circle of community musicians and vocalists to elevate our song at Shiru Shabbat (*ruach means spirit). -

Lets gather to prepare our Farm together and create a more sustainable and resilient community for all. A wide variety of tasks are needed to get our space ready for the growing season, and there will be something to do for all ages. Activities will include weeding, clearing of brush, planting, mulch spreading, sign painting, kids activities, and more. So much more than just labor, it is a *party*. By coming together with music, food, and community, you take part in YOUR ecosystem, YOUR farm. Just as this land collectively belongs to you, you belong to it, and we are calling together everyone now to make their mark and nurture our Farm together. Its a celebration of earth, food, and each other not to be missed! We recommend arriving in sturdy clothes that you can get dirty, and coming equipped with any gloves and gardening tools you might own- there will be something for everyone though so most of all come as you are! -
