Welcome!  Thank you for your interest in Shefa.  If you are a graduate of Shefa at Abundance Farm, or are a rising 11th or 12th grader, you are in the right place. If you are applying to be a first-time participant in the Shefa program please apply here.

The Shefa Apprentices program is one 6-week long program that runs from July 8 to August 16 and includes honing low-impact farming skills, mentorship of trainees at Abundance Farm as well as off-site visits to nearby food justice partners. If transportation is a barrier for applying, we have travel stipends available. Please let us know if this is something you will want.

EXTENDED: This application is NOW DUE on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 5 pm. Interviews will be held on April 25th, April 30th and May 1st.

We recommend blocking out at least 30 minutes to fill out this application. This application contains three parts: the first part asks for some personal information, including how to contact you and your guardian(s); the second part reviews information about the program you are applying for and asks about your availability during the summer; and the last part contains a few short essay questions. Please answer each question completely and thoroughly. For the third part, you are invited to answer creatively-- if voice messages or video format are more your jam, then please feel free to send us voice or video messages.
 
All group interview times will be scheduled for 1.5 hours, after school hours.
This year, Shefa Apprentices will take place for 6 weeks from July 8 to August 16, Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 12 PM at Abundance Farm. This is a paid internship, and participants receive a stipend of $35/day.  
 
This is the part of the application where you get to share who you are and why you are interested in Shefa. Please answer in complete sentences. Even if you have applied to Shefa programming before and answered these questions, please answer them thoroughly. Please take the time to let yourself shine in your answers!
