After 55ish years on Bridge Street.. the congregation decided to move... more history...
Congregation B'nai Israel built the first (and only?) synagogue-specific building in Northampton. The Sanctuary/Social Hall was divided by a wall, with a kitchen, two bathrooms, three classrooms, the library and two offices.
Driven in part due to the success of the Hebrew School and Gan Keshet Preschool (founded in 1986), the congregation built an addition - including 3 classrooms, an office for the Rabbi, an ADA bathroom, and the front-enterance.
