An inclusive, empowering way for teens to connect to Judaism
Teen life at our synagogue offers a welcoming space for connection, exploration, and growth. Through social gatherings, learning opportunities, and leadership roles, teens build friendships while deepening their connection to Jewish values and community. It’s a place to show up as yourself, ask big questions, and shape the future of Jewish life together.

Shefa
שפע, or Shefa — Hebrew for Abundance — is a paid teen educational internship centered on meaningful work outside, community building and Jewish Land Justice values. We welcome both new and returning teens to work alongside each other on our community farm to help grow food for our community while having fun outside together. Activities will include learning ecologically integrated farm skills like building soil, low-impact crop management, pollinator plant care, harvesting medicinal and food crops and preserving crops for future enjoyment. In addition to these skills, teens will spend time each day exploring topics of food and land justice through the lens of Jewish tradition.

ALMA
ALMA is the CBI religious school program, and it is open for students pre-K through 7th grade.

madrich/madricha
Graduates of ALMA are encouraged to become a madrich or madrichah (“guide” or “instructor”). This is a paid, part-time role as an assistant in the younger ALMA classes on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Holiday programs
CBI hosts a teen-led teen program during key holidays including the High Holy Days, Purim, Chanukah, and others.
MORE
In addition to teen programming, teens are invited into all other aspects of CBI life, including services, Abundance Farm, havurot, adult education closes, and more.
