Coming back to CBI has been a nostalgic and joyful highlight of returning to Northampton in 2020. I grew up in Northampton, had my bar mitzvah here, spent my teenage years as a madrich in the Hebrew school, and attended the Hebrew High School program when it existed. My partner Helen and I became official members in 2022, and since then we've loved being part of Shiru Shabbat, leading Avodat Lev on the farm, and leading some singing at Shavuot. We have a 1 year old daughter, Ibi, who has spent a significant amount of her young life at CBI! It was through CBI member and educator Helen Leue that I was introduced to the National Havurah Committee which has become a meaningful Jewish home for me throughout my life. Helene was a mentor to me when I was a madrich at CBI’s teen program. I became very active in the NHC and served on the board from 2012-2017, including as Treasurer and then as Board Chair for two years. I work as a software engineer, and outside of work you'll find me making music, baking bread, and cooking for anyone who'll sit at the table. I hope to bring my technical skills and board experience to this role, and to help take care of a community that has meant so much to me for so long. I’m excited to help build and strengthen organizational systems and communication, and support our rabbinic and spiritual leadership as it changes, to ensure that our big tent continues to be welcoming, embodying our values of social justice, and supporting families and the broader community.
