Bio

We have been members of CBI since moving here in 2001. Our children, Aviya (24), Amitai (22) and Shalev (16), are graduates of Lander-Grinspoon Academy, Gan Keshet, and Challah, and we celebrated their Bnei Mitzvot with our CBI community. My husband, Justin Cammy, is a professor of Jewish Studies and now Associate Dean of Faculty at Smith College. I am currently Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Springfield College. Previously I worked at the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, focusing on the state’s Equity Agenda, at Holyoke Community College, and as Professor of American Literature and Jewish Studies, as well as Dean of Academic Support and Advising, at Hampshire College. In the last several years I have also lectured locally and regionally on the history of antisemitism. I previously served on the Board and on the Education Committee for several years, but many years ago. Serving on the Rabbinic Search Committee this year has been an amazing experience and opportunity to get to know our vibrant, diverse, complex, and growing community in a new way. My desire to serve on the Board is the result of my search committee experience, and my goal is to successfully transition a new incoming rabbi at this time of tremendous growth, opportunity, and challenge. I also hope to bring some of my leadership experience in other non-profit institutions to bear on my service to CBI.
