Bio
Maia (she/her) is looking forward to her third year at Gan Keshet! Maia has worked with children through care, education and play for over a decade. She's had the pleasure of teaching in a vast range of roles and diverse learning environments, including literacy coaching in elementary schools, running her own tutoring business, and caring for infants/toddlers, among many other teaching adventures. Maia studied social sciences with a concentration in education at GCC, and recently completed her EEC Admin course and will serve as a back-up staff supervisor this year. Core values of Maia's teaching and care-taking style include learning through play, celebrating and honoring neurodiversity, and encouraging social-emotional skills. She aims to inspire curiosity, creativity, and compassion in her students. When she's not running around Gan Keshet, Maia adores spending time with her partner Vincent and their two quirky rescue cats at home in downtown Noho.
