About the Event
You are invited to attend a welcoming interfaith gathering rooted in our shared values of compassion, dignity, and justice. Across traditions, we are called to welcome the stranger, protect the vulnerable, and work for justice in our communities. Together, we will affirm our commitment to stand with our immigrant neighbors.
Join us as we:
● Gather for community singing led by Molly Bajgot & Ben Grosscup
● Learn from Jared and Laurie Berezin, founders of Bearing Witness New England, which draws hundreds of people for weekly non-violent standouts for immigrant justice in front of the ICE Field Office in Burlington, MA
● Explore local volunteer opportunities with organizations working for immigrant justice.
● Join together to light the Havdalah candle in honor of those who support vulnerable immigrants. Havdalah (meaning "separation") is a short, multi-sensory Jewish ceremony marking the end of the Sabbath and the beginning of a new week.
You shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the feelings of the stranger, having yourselves been strangers in the land of Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)
This event is free and open to the public.
Organized by CBI Tikkun Olam Committee’s Immigrant Justice team. Your contribution to the CBI Tikkun Olam Committee Social Justice Activities Fund supports this and other programs.
