Mackenzie Steiner

Parpar Co-Lead Teacher and Extended Day Teacher

Bio

Mackenzie (she/her) is entering her third year at GK. She absolutely loves animals and has four cats and one dog. She enjoys baking and is on a mission to create the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever. She cooks dinner for her family most nights (and lets other people do the dishes!). She draws whenever she can and is currently working on developing her digital art skills. Mackenzie attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she studied Architecture, Spanish, and Environmental Studies. While working a variety of other jobs (Disney being the most notable!), she realized her favorite parts of the day were always the ones when she got to interact with children. She grew up in

Noho and has worked with CBI in several roles (Shefa at Abundance Farm, Alma during the weekend religious school, and later as a communications intern at Abundance Farm), so working at Gan Keshet is a wonderful return to her roots. Mackenzie traveled all the way to Mexico this summer, where she enjoyed the beautiful native plants and animals. Coatis and iguanas wandered around freely, she swam in underground rivers, and she got to use her Spanish. Growing up. Mackenzie participated in theater and improv, skills she now incorporates into creative play. She is looking forward to all the new games and jokes she will make up with the children.
